Crazy for Crew

The first weekend of Crazy for You is over and I think that it went amazingly. Saturday’s show was a little off. The energy was kind of low and the audience wasn’t one of the best. But getting two standing ovations just shows how amazing everyone in the cast is.

I think Friday’s show was definitely the best one, especially with the Macy’s being here is was just super amazing and a great feeling that both the cast and crew pulled off another amazing show.

Quick changes are always a little hectic, especially when you’re trying to get two mustaches on someone’s face and the keep falling off! But it all works out in the end.

I’m excited for next weekend!

The year is almost over….

Looking back at everything that we’ve done this year is kind of insane…

I feel like I’m missing something! I honestly can’t believe how long ago Moon Over Buffalo was. Ahh I miss that show. I wish more people had shown up to come see it because it really was good. We all had such a fun time with that show and it was a great way to kick off Senior year. I couldn’t have asked for a better way to start the year.

One acts, the Odyssey, the Murder Mystery…just everything has been such a journey and has helped this class grow into the family it becomes every year as well as helping us grow individually. It’s just crazy to think that this year is almost over and the family will break up and a new one will be forming.

It’s exciting to be moving on but also really sad because you have been with these people for 3/4 years, some of them since kindergarten and it’s just crazy that we have spent most of our lives with these kids and in less than thirty days it’s all gonna be over and we’ll be moving on to bigger things.

Graduation is going to come so fast. geez. All I know is that I am so thankful to have had this program to come to for the past four years. I don’t know where I would have been without any of the people and teachers that I have had the opportunity to work with.

Oh gosh. I’m getting so sentimental.

k. Bye.

I’m Crazy for Drama

Crazy for you has been craz-ay.

Doing all the costume stuff again is a lot of fun because I really enjoy that aspect of theater it is just so time consuming! And it is just a lot of stress to add onto all my other classes, but overall it really is worth it to be apart of the whole thing. Especially since I’m graduating and I’m almost done. I really really can’t believe that.

Opening tomorrow is going to be crazy because even though I feel as if we are basically ready, it just seems so soon. Like it came really fast. But everyone is so talented and they have worked so hard that I think it will go really smoothly.

I’m disappointed that this is a tap musical because I really wanted to audition for the musical senior year and I am just not coordinated enough to learn how to tap, but oh well. Being behind the scenes is fun too. Someone’s go to do it.

I’m excited to see how tomorrow goes!

IB IS DONE

It honestly feels so good to be done with all of our IB projects.

Four projects and they are all done!! All the stessing out and the late nights and all that research and it is over. I mean the class is still there but everything that we have been working towards this year is sent off to some country across the world and now we have to wait until July if it actually paid off.

I will be very dissapointed if I don’t get good scores overall and pass. I have worked so hard and seeing that I got a 6 and a 7 on my other two projects just felt amazing because I knew that I had worked really hard to earn those scores, so I hope that those scores stick.

I have learned so much in this class and I am really glad that I made the decision to take it because with all the work and research that I had to do will help me so much in college.

IT JUST FEELS SO GOOD TO BE DONE

Viewpoints.

The workshop at the Longbeach festival was one of the most powerful experiences ever. I learned so much in the little hour workshop then I have learned in most of highschool.

It was such an empowering feeling to really understand and realize that you can do anything you want. You don’t have to listen to anyone, because they don’t matter.

She said that you have to shoot those little parrots off your shoulders because all they are doing are whispering lies to you. But in reality, you are better than those little lies and all the people telling you those lies.

It gave all of us a sense of empowerment and belief in ourselves and really great feeling that you can take on the stage with you.

She kinda of pushed us to our physical limits at some points and that wore us down to realize how strong we really are.

It was an amazing lesson to have learned and I am so grateful that I was there to experience it.

Festivalessss

The Longbeach festival went really well!

It was really exciting to get in the finals for both of my events.

Performing extremities again, we definitely performed it our best this weekend. I felt that we were all really connected and that we were really listening to each other.

It felt really awesome to hear that the director of the theater department that was judging our scene really liked it and thought that well all did a good job and connected and listened to each other. That was awesome.

It kind of sucked that we didn’t win but that’s okay.

My monologue also went really well and I felt that both the times I did it I had performed it at my best. I thought it would be harder to get the emotion right because I had to snap so fast into that character but I think that it worked really well and I’m proud of myself for being able to accomplish that.

So I think since the murder mystery went so well, everyone was really connected with each other which I think really helped with the flow of the class and everything. The murder mystery was a really good experience to try out my improv skills of which I basically possess none. It was a lot of fun being somebody else in a somewhat real life situation.

It helped unify our class as an ensemble more. The whole thing was a really great experience.

First night of Murder Mystery!

I think it went really well!

Some moments were definitely quiet and I don’t think the audience caught everything and some scenes kind of got messed up but I think over all it went really well.

The energy was there but not really in the audience. Some were more interactive than others.

It was fun being a bridesmaid too because I was able to do both nights and I thought it would be fun to be a bridesmaid anyway.

It was a little weird at first because No one was really sure what to do but it got a lot easier and more fun throughout the night.

Can’t wait for round two tomorrow!

How Brecht-esque.

Bertold Brecht.

I love Brecht. I think that it’s just so much fun and I love his ideas.

I love being sucked into a really good performance. But I think that it is interesting to use this type of theater to open people’s eyes as to what’s really going on around them so that they become proactive.

Like with the Kony video. That’s clearly a political statement. Something that Brecht would do.
